Job description

Job Title: CNC Turner

Location: Thetford

Hourly rate dependant on experience

Type: Full time, permanent

Job Description

Our well-established client is seeking an experienced CNC Turner to program, set, and operate CNC lathes and, if necessary, CNC mills using Fanuc and Fanuc-based programming (DMG Mori, Hardinge, and Haas).

You will be responsible for producing precision components according to engineering drawings, ensuring all tolerances are met. Materials include Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Titanium, and Plastics.

Additional responsibilities include writing programs, setting up machines, verifying first-offs before quality control inspection, and running machines to produce components. You will also plan and coordinate tooling purchases and ensure gauges are available if required.

Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar production environment, ideally in the automotive sector.
  • Apprentice trained with a HNC or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to work at pace, multitask, and prioritize workloads.
  • Strong communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone/email.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM systems is advantageous.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, totaling 42.5 hours per week. The first 40 hours are at the standard rate, with 2.5 hours paid at time and a half.
