Job summary

A reputable engineering firm in Halstead is looking for a skilled CNC Turner for their night shift. The role involves setting up lathes, inspecting parts, and maintaining production logs. Qualifications

Job description

An engineering business located in Halstead, Essex are currently recruiting for a CNC Turner on their night shift.

This is a temporary - permanent position, with the position paying between 15 - 19.95 per hour.

This company manufacture components to the construction sector and have been established for over half a century.

Job Overview:

  • As a CNC Turner, you will be required to set up lathes to start a production cycle whilst controlling and adjusting machine settings


What does the role involve?

  • Inspection of parts with precision and measuring tools
  • Test operation of machines regularly
  • Fix any issues that arise on the shift
  • Maintain activity logs
  • Check output of machinery to spot any machine-related mistakes
  • Ensure company plant & equipment are properly maintained
  • Produce components in accordance with layouts, drawings and production orders
  • Use of computer to enquire and input details of operations
  • Attend meetings and training sessions where needed
  • Comply with the company health & safety rules and regulations


Candidate requirements:

  • Must be able to read from engineering drawings
  • Prior Fanuc CNC Turning/Lathe experience is needed
  • Experience setting / programming knowledge of CNC Lathes
  • Good knowledge of factory / machine shop practices
  • Strong Decision Making Skills
  • Apprenticeship, NVQ or Diploma within engineering


Working hours:

  • Monday to Thursday - 10:30pm - 6:30am & Friday 5:00pm - 11:00pm
