Job description

CNC Turner to join an impressive Bradford based, precision engineering organisation on a permanent basis. This role would be perfect for a machinist looking to take the next step into management. Full training can and will be provided to the right candidate.

Employing around 50 people, this precision engineering organisation subcontracts their machining services to high profile companies across Europe. Due to continued demand of their services, as well as significant investment into their machining capabilities, they are looking to acquire a CNC supervisor.

CNC Turner Renumeration:

  • Renumeration: up to 41,000 per annum (Negotiable for the right person)
  • Regular Overtime available paid at 150%
  • Hours: 40 hours weekdays (overtime available) 7.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday. Early finish Friday
  • 30 days holiday per year, including stats.

CNC Turner responsibilities:

  • Setting and operating lathes to produce machined components, ensuring that specifications and quality standards are achieved.
  • Creating new programs, as well as editing existing programs using Fanuc controls and CAD/CAM software. Producing working drawings would be a huge advantage (currently use OneCNC cam, training will be given on this software).
  • Reading, interpreting and working directly from engineering drawings and with a variety of exotic materials such as Inconel, Duplex and Titanium.
  • Supervising a small team of skilled workers across production.

The CNC Turner will have:

  • IDEAL NOT ESSENTIAL: Formal qualifications within a relevant discipline, Mechanical Engineering/Machining (Apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC, City & Guilds Level 3 etc.)
  • Experience working in a similar role as a Programmer, Setter/Operator or Machinist within a high precision machining environment.
  • Ideally previous supervisory experience.

Based in Bradford, the CNC Miller can easily commute from Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Halifax and Leeds.
