Job summary

CMP Products Limited is seeking a CNC Setter with turning experience to join our Cramlington site. You will set and operate CNC machines to produce components from brass, stainless steel and aluminium, ensuring parts meet engineering drawings.

You will read and edit CNC programmes, monitor tooling wear, and use a range of measuring equipment to verify conformity. The role includes shift work (10 x 12 hour shifts in a 21-day cycle) and a strong emphasis on health & safety, quality, and

Qualifications

• Experience setting and programming Fanuc or Mori Seiki controls.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings to tight tolerances.
• Proficient with a range of measuring equipment and inspection practices.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC machines to produce components from brass, stainless steel and aluminium.
• Read and edit CNC programmes to ensure quality and output is optimised.
• Monitor tooling for wear, adjust offsets or replace where necessary.
• Use measuring equipment to complete inspection requirements per Control Plan.
• Identify and report non-conforming components and follow SOPs.
• Complete all system transactions relevant to the role and maintain cleanliness.
• Perform pre-shift and maintenance checks as dictated by plant procedures.
• Work on a shift rotation averaging 37.5 hours per week (10 x 12 hour shifts in a 21 day cycle).
• Commit to safety and environmental policies and promote positive behaviours.

Job description

We are looking for a CNC Setter with predominately turning experience to join our site in Cramlington. You will be required to set and operate CNC Machines to produce a range of components from a variety of raw materials including brass, stainless steel and aluminium, ensuring all components conform to the engineering drawings.

What you'll be doing

• Ensure that all processes are completed in accordance with all applicable Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
• Perform any setting / operating duties as requested on or within target times
• Read and edit existing CNC programmes to ensure quality and output is optimised
• Monitor tooling for wear, adjust offsets or replace where necessary
• Use a variety of measuring equipment ensure all inspection requirements are completed in line with Control Plan instructions
• Identify and report non-conforming components ensuring the relevant SOP is followed
• Accurately complete all system transactions related to your job role
• Maintain and promote a high standard of housekeeping at all times
• Perform any pre-shift and maintenance checks as dictated by the plant and equipment you are operating

Who we're looking for

To apply, you must have experience of setting and Programming one of the following – Fanuc or Mori Seiki control systems, have knowledge of working to tight tolerances, understand technical drawings and the ability to use a wide range of measuring equipment.

This position will be on a full time, permanent basis. Working hours are an average of 37.5 hours per week on a shift rotation, which involves 10 x 12 hour shifts over a 21-day cycle with 11 days off.
