We are working in partnership with an industry-leading, engineering business to recruit a CNC Turner. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter to take on a leadership role within a high-precision, forward-thinking environment.

The Role:

As Turning Cell Leader, you will be responsible for the preparation, programming, setting, and operation of CNC lathes (Fanuc/G-code) to carry out high-quality turning and drilling operations. You ll oversee daily production, ensure quality standards are met, and work closely with the Machine Shop Manager to achieve production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, set, and operate CNC lathes (Fanuc controls G-code essential)
  • Load raw materials and components efficiently into machines
  • Carry out precision inspection of finished parts using measuring equipment
  • Perform daily machine checks and support preventative maintenance
  • Maintain high standards of safety and quality in line with ISO 9001
  • Lead by example within the cell, supporting continuous improvement efforts

The Candidate

  • Proven experience in CNC lathe programming and setting (Fanuc/G-code)
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
  • Confident in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of turning processes and mechanical principles
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive, team-focused approach with leadership capability
