Kingdom People are recruiting a CNC Sliding Head Setter / Operator for a world-class precision engineering manufacturer in Portsmouth. You will set and operate CNC Sliding Head lathes, preferably Star machines, with Fanuc controls, delivering high-precision components to tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• Setting and operating CNC Sliding Head lathes to tight tolerances.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Using precision measuring equipment to verify component quality.
• Maintaining high standards of quality and production targets.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC Sliding Head lathes, preferably Star machines.
• Produce precision-engineered components to tight tolerances.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Use micrometers, verniers, gauges and other inspection equipment to verify component quality.
• Monitor machining performance and make adjustments where required.
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Work closely with colleagues to support production performance and continuous improvement.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, quality and health & safety.
