Job summary

MAS Precision Engineering Limited in the UK is seeking a skilled CNC Setter/Operator to set and run Star sliding head and Nakamura fixed head machines, producing high-precision components and meeting production targets.

You will read engineering drawings, adjust tooling and offsets, inspect work with precision measuring equipment, and contribute to continuous improvement while adhering to health, safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in CNC setting and operating within precision engineering.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Experience working to tight tolerances and batch sizes (e.g., 500–50,000).
• Good understanding of tooling, offsets and machining processes.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating Star sliding head and Nakamura fixed head machines.
• Producing first-off samples for quality review.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Performing in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
