Job summary

MacStaff is seeking a skilled CNC Sliding Head Programmer Setter in West Byfleet, Surrey. You will own programming, setting and operating multi-axis sliding head lathes, producing high-precision components for aerospace, defence and medical sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC sliding head machines.
• Experience with Star, Citizen, Tsugami or similar sliding head lathes.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining principles, cutting tools and techniques.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and make precision parts.
• Experience modifying and optimizing CNC programs.
• Understanding of tight tolerance manufacturing and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating multi-axis CNC sliding head lathes.
• Create new CNC programs online and offline.
• Edit and optimise existing programs for accuracy and efficiency.
• Select tooling, methods and cutting parameters.
• Produce precise components to tight tolerances.
• Perform self-inspections and quality checks.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and implement solutions.
• Plan and manage workflow to meet production schedules.
• Support colleagues and operate other CNC machinery as needed.
