Job description

CNC Sliding Head Machinist - Braintree - Up to £42,000 - 25 days holiday

We're seeking a skilled CNC Sliding Head Machinist to join a precision engineering company in Braintree. If you have experience with Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes, strong problem-solving skills, and a background in machining, this could be the perfect opportunity.

The Role:

1. Setting, operating, and programming Citizen Sliding Head Lathes (Fanuc controls)
2. Selecting tools and adjusting programs to produce high-quality components
3. Conducting first-off approvals, in-process quality checks, and completing QA records
4. Following engineering drawings, work instructions, and H&S procedures

What We're Looking For:

1. Experience in CNC setting, programming & problem-solving
2. Ability to read & interpret detailed engineering drawings
3. Familiarity with Fanuc or Siemens CNC programming (training provided)
4. Self-sufficient in quality control & first-off approvals
5. Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience preferred
