CNC Setter / Operator (Miller)
Location: Lower Dicker, Hailsham
Salary: Competitive, DOE
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 37 hours/week, Monday to Friday (flexible working pattern)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a CNC Setter / Operator (Miller) to join a precision engineering team working in a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Hailsham. With a proud history of supporting advanced research institutions like CERN, NASA, and the European Space Agency, this company is at the forefront of ultra-high vacuum technology and now entering an ambitious expansion phase.
As a CNC Setter / Operator (Miller), you will play a key role in machining complex components to tight tolerances, ensuring high quality and reliability. You ll work with both proven and unproven programs on a variety of CNC machines and be responsible for tool setting, producing first-off parts, and maintaining equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and operate CNC mills using FANUC, Heidenhain, or Siemens controls
  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and ISO/conversational programs
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and support continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in CNC machining with craft apprenticeship
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and material behavior
  • Ability to spot potential issues and ensure on-time delivery
  • Ideally experienced in machining chambers or fabricated components
