First Military Recruitment is currently seeking a CNC Machinist on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Setting and operating CNC lathes to produce small to medium size batches of work in a timely manner.
  2. Inspecting work to engineering drawings using various measuring equipment and reporting any quality defects to the machine shop supervisor.
  3. Performing daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks on machines, maintaining good housekeeping standards, adhering to 5S requirements, and reporting any issues promptly to supervision.
  4. Optimising efficiencies through reduced set-up and cycle times, plus tool life monitoring.
  5. Deburring, cleaning, final inspection, and completing all traceability documentation.
  6. Carrying out other duties that may be reasonably requested.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of operating CNC machine tools.
  • Experience with CNC lathes with a minimum of 4 axes.
  • Experience reading and editing Fanuc-based programs.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and inspect work using a range of measurement equipment to ensure products meet specifications.
