Job summary

Frontline Recruitment Group is recruiting for a CNC Setter Operator in Leicester (LE4). The role involves setting and operating Agathon and Rollomatic CNC grinding machines, reading drawings and inspecting outputs to tight tolerances.

The team collaborates to improve efficiency and reduce downtime, with a focus on quality and safety. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of CNC grinding experience, familiarity with Agathon or Rollomatic machines, and knowledge of Fanuc/G-code

Qualifications

• Previous CNC Setter Operator experience in precision engineering.
• Minimum 2 years operating CNC grinding machines.
• Experience with Agathon and Rollomatic is highly desirable.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret specs.
• Knowledge of Fanuc/G-code programming.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate Agathon and Rollomatic CNC grinding machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Produce high-quality precision components to tight tolerances.
• Edit and optimise CNC programs using Fanuc/G-code controls.
• Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections with measuring equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve machine, tooling and material issues to minimise downtime.
• Maintain machine maintenance and housekeeping to 5S standards.

Job description

ROLE: CNC Setter Operator (Agathon & Rollomatic Machines)

LOCATION: Leicester (LE4)

HOURS: Monday to Thursday: 6am – 3pm | Friday: 6am – 11am

SALARY: £35,000 per annum

The Role

• Setting and operating Agathon and Rollomatic CNC grinding machines.
• Working on:
  • Agathon 400 Penta
  • Agathon Combi Plus
  • Rollomatic 630XW (GrindSmart)
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Producing high-quality precision components to tight tolerances.
• Editing and optimising CNC programs using Fanuc/G-code controls where required.
• Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections using manual and electronic measuring equipment.
• Diagnosing and resolving machine, tooling and material issues to minimise downtime.
• Performing routine machine maintenance and preventative care.
• Working closely with production teams to improve efficiency, reduce set‑up times and optimise manufacturing processes.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping in line with 5S principles.
• Following all company quality procedures, ISO standards and health & safety requirements.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a CNC Setter Operator within a precision engineering or tool manufacturing environment.
• At least 2 years' experience operating CNC grinding machines.
• Experience with Agathon and/or Rollomatic CNC machines is highly desirable.
• Experience working with 4 and 5-axis CNC grinding machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of Fanuc/G-code programming and editing.
• Strong understanding of precision measurement techniques and inspection equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machining issues.
• A proactive, reliable and team-oriented approach to work.
