Job description

CNC Setter Operator - Turning. This company offers endless opportunities for growth and development within a new machining department setting and operating CNC Turning machines. Working 07:00 - 15:00 Monday to Friday and 07:00 - 12:00 Friday paying £19.22 per hour plus overtime.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and set CNC turning machines, ensuring precision and adherence to engineering specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to deliver high-quality components that meet exact requirements.
  • Conduct 'Start of Work' machine inspections and report any faults or unusual occurrences using approved procedures.
  • Measure, examine, and inspect components using precision instruments such as micrometres and verniers to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Input production tickets onto SAP upon task completion and assist in training semi-skilled machinists or new starters as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area while upholding the company's Environmental Health & Safety policies.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with expertise in running CNC Turning machines.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, meeting deadlines and adapting positively to changing conditions.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across all levels of the business.
  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2-3 in Engineering/Machining or a machining apprenticeship.
