Job summary

Precision People is recruiting a Field Service Engineer to install, service and repair 3- and 5-axis CNC machine tools across the UK and Ireland, with a focus on the East and West Midlands patch.

You will work either alone or as part of a team, travel nationwide with notice, and report daily activities to your line manager. The role includes a competitive salary, 33 days holiday, a company vehicle, tools, and private medical cover.

Qualifications

• HNC level mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications.
• Experience working on CNC machinery.
• Willing to travel and stay away from home.
• Full clean UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and maintain 3- and 5-axis CNC machine tools.
• Travel across the UK & Ireland to support customers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers.
• Provide daily reports to line manager and maintain service stock.
• Upload daily worksheets to the database with details of follow-up work.
• Work solo or as part of a team.

As a CNC Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and servicing of over 5000 CNC machines across the UK & Ireland, predominantly over your local patch covering the East and West Midlands

Based in the Midlands, suitable locations may include: Leicester, Loughborough, Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Leamington Spa, Hinckley, Rugby, Hinckley, Nuneaton

The Role of Field Service Engineer:

• Develop & maintain working relationships with current customers
• Communicate daily with line manager, providing detailed reports
• Carry out and maintain service stock
• Upload of daily work sheets to database, providing details of further work to be carried out
• Travel throughout the UK & Southern Ireland when required (with notice) to support colleagues abroad
• Working as an individual or as part of team
• Installation, repair & maintenance of 3 & 5 axis machine tools
• Installation, repair & maintain 2,3,4 & 5 axis lathes.

Minimum Skills / Experience Required:

• HNC level mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications
• Previous experience working on CNC machinery or similar
• Willing to travel and stay away from home
• Ability to work & communicate professionally at customers premises
• Full clean UK driving licence
