Job description

Ourclient based in the Redditch is looking for a CNC Router Operator (wood) to join their busy team. Job Responsibilities
  • Machine Setup

    • Load and secure wood stock (plywood, MDF, hardwood, etc.) on the CNC table.

    • Install and calibrate cutting tools, bits, and fixtures.

    • Load CNC programs (G-code) into the machine.

  • Operation

    • Run CNC routers according to job specifications.

    • Monitor machine performance during operation to ensure accuracy.

    • Make adjustments for cutting depth, spindle speed, and feed rate as needed.

    • Perform test cuts and quality checks.

  • Programming & CAD/CAM

    • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files.

    • Use CAM software (e.g., VCarve, Fusion 360, Mastercam) to create or adjust toolpaths.

    • Optimize nesting layouts for material efficiency.

  • Quality Control

    • Inspect finished parts for accuracy and surface quality.

    • Sand, edge, or finish parts as needed.

    • Correct errors and re-run jobs when necessary.

  • Maintenance & Safety

    • Clean and maintain the CNC router, tools, and work area.

    • Replace worn or broken bits.

    • Follow shop safety protocols (dust collection, PPE, lockout/tagout).
