Job summary

Ross Frank in Surrey is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer Setter to take ownership of jobs from drawing to finished component. You will programme, set and operate CNC machines across milling, turning and sliding-head operations, applying appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds.

The role offers a highly competitive basic pay with overtime at 1.5x, a modern workshop, and ongoing investment in machinery and technology.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming CNC machines from drawings.
• Capable of setting tools, workholding, speeds and feeds.
• Ability to prove out programs and inspect first-off parts.

We are working with a growing precision engineering business in Surrey that is looking to bring in another experienced CNC Programmer Setter as part of its continued investment and expansion.

This would suit a skilled person who takes pride in their work and wants to be around good machinery, good people and a business that is genuinely ambitious about where it is going.

The company has invested heavily into its machining capability and operates a strong range of modern, well-maintained CNC equipment across milling, turning and sliding-head machining.

They are looking for somebody who is confident programming and setting CNC machinery and who enjoys taking ownership of jobs from drawing through to finished component.

The role

You will be involved in:

• Programming, setting and operating CNC machinery
• Producing precision components from engineering drawings
• Setting tooling, workholding, speeds and feeds
• Proving out new programmes and new jobs
• Carrying out first-off inspection and dimensional checks
• Making programme and offset adjustments where required
• Troubleshooting machining issues
• Improving machining methods, cycle times and processes

What we're looking for

We would be interested in speaking with machinists who have strong experience in areas such as:

• CNC milling or turning
• Multi-axis machining
• Sliding-head machining
• Offline or conversational programming
• Fanuc, Siemens, or similar controls
• Programming and setting work rather than purely operating

You do not need to have worked on every type of machine within the facility.

If you have strong CNC fundamentals and the right attitude, the company is happy to help you develop onto additional machinery and processes.
