Job summary

Omega in Barrow-in-Furness is seeking a CNC Machinist (Programmer Setter Operator - 5 Axis) for a 6-month onsite contract. You will program, set and operate Mazak 5-axis machines and interpret engineering drawings.

Experience with Mazak machines and Intergrex 200-III programming with Mazatrol Fusion 640 and SolidCAM is essential, along with creating efficient CNC programs and tight tolerances. Join a team delivering high-precision components in a technically demanding energy and marine sector

Qualifications

• Proven experience as CNC Machinist/Programmer.
• Experience with Mazak machines and Intergrex 200-III programming with Mazatrol Fusion 640 and SolidCAM (essential).

Responsibilities

• Program, set, and operate CNC machines, (Mazak 5-axis Lathes using G-code and M-code controls)
• Ability to operate Manual Lathes and Gate Mills
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, CAD data, and technical specifications.
• Create, optimise, and edit CNC programs for efficient machining and minimal downtime.
• Perform precision machining of components to tight tolerances.
• Conduct tool selection, tool setting, and offsets to ensure high quality output.
