Job summary

Omega Plc is seeking a CNC Programmer / Production Engineer in Gloucestershire to join a high-precision machine shop. You will create CNC programs, generate shop-floor documentation, and support NPI and small-batch production with close collaboration across engineering and production teams.

The role requires experience with CAM software, strong GD&T reading skills, and a robust machining background. 5-axis programming is advantageous, and ERP tooling and routings knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of CNC programming/CAM programming experience.
• Experience reading engineering drawings, including GD&T.
• Strong machining background with NPI and small-batch work.

Responsibilities

• Create CNC programs using CAM software.
• Produce accurate shop floor documentation and job packs.
• Support NPI, small batch and precision machining work.
• Program complex components to a high standard.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
• Collaborate with designers, buyers, engineers and production teams.
• Assist tooling selection, ordering and consumables.
• Complete routings and structures within the ERP system.
• Maintain TPM records and machine maintenance sheets.
• Coordinate machine servicing schedules and engineer visits.
