A leading company specializing in precision engineering is looking for a CNC programmer to join their team in Manchester. The ideal candidate will develop CNC programs and work on exciting projects in military and civil aviation engineering. This role offers a 4-day working week, continuous training, and a supportive work environment.
Salary = £36,000 – £37,500 dependent on experience

Based in Manchester we are currently recruiting for a CNC programmer on a permanent basis to join our ever-expanding CNC machining department. We have a wide variety of prestigious clients involved some of the most exciting Military and Civil aviation engineering projects around the world and this role will be instrumental in the day-to-day support and development in this area of our business.
From you
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and optimize CNC programs using Autodesk Powermill for precision machining.
– Interpret technical drawings and CAD models to create efficient toolpaths.
– Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials.
– Produce accompanying detailed operator setup sheets.
– Conduct test runs and adjust programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
– Collaborate with machinists to refine machining processes.
– Troubleshoot machine errors and optimize performance.
– Use Powershape to create jig/fixtures and Other holding to aid programming.
– Apply strict revision control of all types of data throughout.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
– Proficiency in Autodesk Powermill and Powershape. Fusion 360 may be beneficial.
– Strong understanding of CNC machining principles.
– Up to date with multi-axis machining, tooling and tool path strategies on 3-axis & 5-axis CNC machines.
– Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
– Problem-solving skills for optimizing machining efficiency.
– Understanding of material properties, machining and setup techniques in sympathy of collision avoidance.
– Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality production.
– Previous exposure to working in adherence to ISO9001 & AS9100 requirements.
– Capability and resilience to thrive in a ‘Low volume/High mix’ production department.
– A self-starter showing initiative and resilience when challenges arise.
– Understand the importance of being prompt and reliable.
– A sociable team player able to communicate at all levels.
– Ability to achieve UK security clearance is essential.
