CNC Programmer and Setter

Oldbury, West Midlands

Monday to Friday (0700 - 1600hrs)

GBP35K - GBP38K+ DOE

A Precision Engineering firm, specialising in high quality, bespoke component parts, has an exciting opportunity for a CNC Programmer to join their well-established engineering team.

This opportunity offers security and stability in the current economic climate, with training and development whilst being supported by a friendly, highly skilled and welcoming team.

Responsibilities

* Programming, Setting and operating CNC Sliding heads and Fixed Head machines
* Reading, interpreting and applying technical drawings
* Ensuring the changing of tooling parts (tips, drills, tools, and inserts)
* Applying measurement tools to ensure exacting standards of production output
* Accurate and timely recording of measurement and production data
* Strict adherence to Health and Safety standards
* Ensuring CPD by participating in all mandatory in-house and external training
* Identifying opportunities to maximise efficiency and efficacy of the manufacturing process
* Performing routine maintenance to ensure the serviceability and longevity of machinery and tools

Skills required

* Solid experience setting and operating CNC Sliding Head / Fixed Head machines
* Experience using Citizen machinery is highly desirable
* Proficient in programming of CNC Sliding Heads,
* Experience with FANUC controls and working to tight tolerances
* Ability to work both independently, as well as part of a close-knit team
* Ability to work to tight deadlines
* A positive and proactive attitude
