CNC Recruitment are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer with a background in CNC turning, ideally with experience in 3/5 axis machines. This role will be based on a day shift initially, transitioning to double-day shifts after training. The ideal candidate will have experience in programming and a strong understanding of CNC turning processes.

Shift Pattern: Day Shift (Post-Training: Double Day Shifts)
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum (DOE), with earning potential circa £36,000

Overtime: x1.5 over 39 hours, double time on Sundays or Bank Holidays

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC turning machines (3/5 axis preferred) to produce precision parts.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine machine settings, tooling, and sequence of operations.
  • Ensure that all parts produced meet quality and dimensional specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Work closely with the production team to improve efficiencies, reduce waste, and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Conduct regular machine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner while adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Assist with training junior staff as required and contribute to continuous improvement processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CNC Programmer, ideally with turning experience on 3/5 axis machines.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming software and toolpath generation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience in setting up and operating CNC machines.
  • Knowledge of quality control processes and precision measurement techniques.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
