Job description

Position: CNC Programmer

Location: Gloucester

Type of work: permanent

Salary: GBP40000 to GBP44000 per annum

Working hours: double days

We are now seeking to recruit a CNC Programmer to work for a bespoke manufacturing company based in Gloucester. The appropriate candidate would be responsible for the machining of moulds and tooling and producing programs using online conversational control / offline CAD/CAM.

Job Description:

  • To set, operate and program CNC machines with minimum supervision.
  • Editing and writing programs using Mazatrol and Heidenhain control or any other appropriate software when necessary.
  • Analysing and producing surfaces, add or delete surfaces.
  • Product Geometry 2D/3D to allow creation of cutter paths.
  • Be able to work from engineering drawings.
  • Be competent in the use of appropriate engineering tools such as micrometres and verniers.
  • Be able to work on own initiative to produce high quality engineered components, batch work & one offs using a range of materials.
  • Compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working
  • environment for all staff.

Person Specification:

  • Proven ability to understand engineering drawings.
  • CNC machining qualification or equivalent
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Good communication skills, dealing with other employees and external clients at all levels.
  • Good team player.
  • Effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Conversant with CAD/CAM Mastercam (training will be given to suitable applicant
