Job summary

WLD Recruitment is seeking an experienced CNC Press Brake Operator for a permanent role in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. You will set and operate Bystronic and TRUMPF press brakes, interpret engineering drawings and select tooling to produce high-quality sheet metal components to specification.

The role follows a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, with 6:00am–6:00pm hours and a focus on quality, continuous improvement and safety. Candidates with prior press brake experience and a proactive approach will thrive.

Qualifications

• Previous experience setting and operating CNC press brake machines.
• Experience with Bystronic or TRUMPF machinery would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of sheet metal bending processes and tooling.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Confident working independently and checking the quality of finished components.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating Bystronic and TRUMPF CNC press brake machines.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Selecting appropriate tooling and carrying out machine setups.
• Producing precision sheet metal components to required tolerances.
• Performing first-off and in-process quality inspections.
• Making adjustments to bending programmes and machine settings where required.
• Working with a variety of sheet metal materials and component designs.
