Job summary

Major Recruitment is working with an established precision engineering business in Nottingham to recruit an Estimator to join its commercial team. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC milling and turning and the ability to translate drawings and specifications into accurate, commercially competitive quotations.

You will work with engineering, production and purchasing to confirm methods, costs and lead times, review inquiries and maintain pricing records within the ERP system.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating CNC components and quotations.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and costs.

Responsibilities

• Review enquiries, drawings and specs to determine manufacturing methods, costs and lead times.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, engineering, production and purchasing to ensure accurate, competitive quotations.
• Review quotations, maintain records, pricing information and pipeline data.
• Confirm capability, costs and capacity with engineering, production and purchasing teams.
• Respond to customer queries and communicate changes promptly.
• Maintain records of conversations on the ERP system.
• Improve estimating accuracy and conversion rates.
