Manpower UK is seeking a Sales and Estimator in Nottingham to convert customer enquiries into accurate, competitive quotations. The role requires strong CNC machining understanding, drawing interpretation, and cost calculation, working with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to win profitable business.

You will review drawings, calculate costs, develop production methods, and prepare quotations within tight timescales.

Qualifications

• Experience in Estimating or Sales Estimator roles within a precision engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CNC milling, turning and general machining processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsabilités

• Review customer enquiries, drawings, and specifications.

• Calculate machining times and overall production costs.
• Obtain and negotiate pricing for subcontract services and external processes.
• Prepare detailed and accurate quotations within agreed timescales.
• Follow up quotations and support business development to maximise conversions.
• Liaise with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Operations to confirm costs, capability, and capacity.
• Maintain accurate customer, supplier, and quotation records in ERP.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to estimating accuracy and commercial performance.

This permanent Sales and Estimator position in Nottingham, offered by Manpower UK at up to £38,000 annually, centres on converting customer enquiries into accurate, competitive quotations. Working 39 hours weekly with an early Friday finish, the successful candidate will review technical drawings and specifications, calculate manufacturing costs, and develop production methods. Close collaboration with customers, suppliers, and internal colleagues is essential to assess requirements and secure profitable new business. Applicants should possess a solid grasp of CNC machining and manufacturing processes, alongside experience with machined components and confidence interpreting engineering drawings. Strong analytical and communication abilities are needed to prepare precise estimates that support the company's growth objectives.

About the Role

Essential Skills andamp; Experience

• Previous experience in an Estimating, Sales Estimator, Quotations, or Commercial role within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CNC milling, turning, and general machining processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Good understanding of manufacturing costs, materials, machining times, and subcontract processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficient IT skills, including experience using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Well-organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple enquiries simultaneously.

Desirable Experience

• Working within a subcontract precision engineering environment.
• Knowledge of a range of manufacturing and finishing processes.
