A leading manufacturer based in West Bromwich is seeking two apprentices for a CNC Operator/Sheet Metal and Engineering Technician role. Over a 3.5-year apprenticeship, candidates will gain comprehensive training in manufacturing processes, while earning competitive wages under the National Minimum Wage policy for apprentices. Tansun are keen to recruit two new apprentices to our team. This is an exciting and varied role where you will learn all aspects of the design, manufacture, quality check and dispatch process of our products.

Wage

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

This role will involve working across all departments of the business gaining a well rounded understanding of our design and manufacture process.

You will learn:

  • Setting and operating brake presses
  • Programming and running lasers
  • Drilling/ Pop riveting
  • Lightweight welding/ cleaning of parts
  • Nesting/ Utilisation of steel sheets
  • Technical sales and ordering
  • Booking jobs on our MRP system
  • Lightweight Assembly of Aluminium parts
  • Basic Press shop operating procedures
  • Setting and operating various handpresses
  • Maybe some lightweight electrical wiring (later on for sunbeds)
  • Quality inspection

  • Follow health and safety regulations, standards, and guidance.

Your training plan

You will be required to attend Advance 1 Campus, Dudley College, 1 day per week in term time only.

  • You will be assigned an assessor who will visit you in the worpkplace every 8 weeks to support you with your apprenticeship
  • Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship you will gained a Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician qualification
