Job summary

A precision engineering recruitment agency is seeking a Night Shift CNC Machinist to set and operate CNC machinery, conduct tool changes, and maintain quality standards. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in precision engineering and knowledge of CNC machining. This role offers a basic salary of £17 per hour plus an enhanced night shift allowance and benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of 3-axis and 4-axis CNC machining.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and follow production work instructions.

  • Set and operate CNC machinery for milling, grinding, tapping, and drilling.
  • Perform basic program edits to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct tool changes, machine offsets, and troubleshoot minor issues.

Skills

CNC operating experience in precision engineering
Knowledge of 3-axis and 4-axis CNC machining
Familiarity with Renishaw probing systems
Ability to interpret engineering drawings
Self-motivated with attention to detail

Job description

Night Shift CNC Machinist
Location: Kirkbymoorside
Shift: Permanent Night Shift
Salary: 17p/h + Shift Allowance

Our client are a high precision engineering company who provide services into various sectors including aerospace and defence. We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to support high-spec production based on their night shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC machinery for milling, grinding, tapping, and drilling
  • Perform basic program edits to ensure optimal performance and part accuracy
  • Work from technical drawings and job specifications with minimal supervision
  • Conduct tool changes, machine offsets, and troubleshoot minor issues
  • Maintain strict quality standards, ensuring parts meet tolerance requirements
  • Perform in-process inspection using standard measuring equipment
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within the machining cell
  • Initial training will be provided on a day shift basis

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience operating CNC machinery in a precision engineering environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of 3-axis and 4-axis CNC machining
  • Familiarity with Renishaw probing systems
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and follow production work instructions
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
