Job description

My client based in Renfrew is looking for skilled machinists to operate their CNC machine tools in their manufacturing department. The role is a permanent one to join their talented team.

The Role:

  1. Operate CNC machines all using Siemens Controls
  2. WFL Mill-turns
  3. Holroyd Grinding/Milling machines
  4. Danobat Cylindrical Grinders
  5. Schenk balancing machines and manual lathes

Skills:

  1. Must have SQV/NVQ Level 3/Modern Apprenticeship or City & Guilds Certificate
  2. Able to interpret engineering drawings
  3. Multi-disciplined in Turning, Milling, Grinding, and Profile Grinding
  4. Experience or understanding of Siemens Controls
  5. Able to use micrometres, ball mics, thread gauges, and callipers

Hours:

Standard working hours are 37 per week with a shift allowance on a rotating 3 shift system:

  1. Early Shift – 6am-2pm
  2. Backshift 2pm-10pm
  3. Nightshift 10pm-6am – Sunday Night to Friday AM

The Pay:

Standard 37 hours are £33,500 pa, rising to £34,500 after training period and review. With Shift Allowance £44,555 pa, rising after training and review to £45,885 pa.

Shift allowance of time plus a third – x1.33, with the shift pattern rate rising next year to x 1.42 - £48,990 pa. Overtime is available at time plus half – x1.5, with earning potential up to £53,889 with 10% Overtime.
