Job summary

Fusion Resources Ltd in Kirkbymoorside is seeking a hands-on CNC Machinist for full-time, permanent work. Training is 6 months on a Mon-Thu 7am-5:30pm schedule, then a 4 on 4 off dayshift from 6:30am to 6:00pm. Initially £17.30/hr, rising to £17.92/hr plus £35 per shift after training.

You will set up and run high-speed CNC machines, read drawings, manage tooling and records, and ensure quality of components produced. Remote work is not available.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of CNC 3/4 axis machining.
• Experience operating CNC machinery.
• Experience with Fanuc Robodrils preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate high speed CNC machines for milling, drilling, tapping, grinding.
• Supervise other machine shop machinery and oversee tooling.
• Ensure tooling, fixtures and CNC programs are ready before production.
• Maintain production records for quantities and scrap.
• Maintain high standards of production output and component quality.
• Read mechanical drawings to understand task specifications.
• Edit programs and tool tables.
• Own component quality and records.
• Check and replace tooling and cutters.
• Load raw materials and parts onto machines.
• Check and refill lubricant levels.

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Location: Kirkbymoorside

Hours:

• Starting Mon-Thurs 7am-5:30pm during training period (approx. 6 months)
• After training period moving to dayshift - 4 on 4 off 6:30am to 6:00pm

Salary: Starting at £17.30/hr rising to £17.92 + £35 per shift after training period (approx. 6 months)

Key Responsibilities

• Setting/Operating High Speed CNC machines to perform tasks such as milling, drilling, tapping, grinding etc
• General operation & supervision of other machine shop machinery.
• Ensure all tooling, fixtures & CNC programs are available prior to commencing production
• Keeping accurate records of component quantities and scrap produced on the production documentation
• Maintain high standards in production output and component quality
• Understanding specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading mechanical drawings etc.
• Basic Editing of Programs & tool tables
• Take ownership of the component quality & records
• To control, check & replace tooling & cutters
• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
• Checking/refilling lubricant levels

Experience Required

• Knowledge and understanding of CNC 3 axis, 4 axis machining and Renishaw probing
• Must have experience on Fanuc Robodrils
• Experience in operating CNC machinery
