Job summary

Catering in Cirencester is seeking an experienced Drill Machine Operator to join the production team on a temporary basis. The role focuses on setting and operating CNC milling equipment, loading materials, and machining components to engineering specifications.

The position runs Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, with a 37.5 hour week and hourly pay of £16.50–£18.50. Key tasks include reading engineering drawings, using ProtoTRAK controllers, and ensuring accuracy with verniers and gauges while

Qualifications

  • Previous machining experience within engineering/manufacturing.
  • Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Confident using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges.
  • Able to work accurately to tight tolerances.
  • Good health and safety understanding in a machine shop.

Responsibilities

  • Set and operate an XYZ SMX 4 milling machine.
  • Use a ProtoTRAK / ProTRAK controller as part of day-to-day machine operation.
  • Load and secure materials, tooling and fixtures.
  • Adjust tooling, machine settings and fixture offsets as required.
  • Read, interpret and work from engineering drawings.
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Experience operating CNC milling machines.
  • Confident using measuring equipment such as verniers
  • Good understanding of health and safety within a machine shop environment.
  • Experience using a ProtoTRAK / ProTRAK controller.
  • Experience machining of stainless steel or similar engineering materials.
