Job summary

Rheinmetall is establishing a new production site in Telford for large calibre barrels. We are seeking an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to prepare, set up and run milling machines in a high-precision, 3-shift environment.

You will machine complex components to tight tolerances, follow SAP instructions, and participate in continuous improvement while maintaining strict quality controls. This role offers long-term security and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC milling machines (incl. 5-axis)
• Ability to read and understand specifications, drawings and test procedures
• Competent using jigs and fixtures and measuring equipment
• Familiarity with quality control within production lines
• Strong attention to detail and accurate workmanship
• Motivated, disciplined, with continuous improvement mindset

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate large CNC milling machines in a 3-shift operation
• Machine high-quality components with tight tolerances for large calibre weapons systems
• Produce according to SAP production orders and instructions
• Inspect finished components using specified test plans and self-checks
• Report production metrics via factory data system
• Select correct tools per SWI and contribute to process improvements
• Support maintenance to fix issues with equipment
