CNC Miller - Setter/Operator ( Hurco )

Pertemps Bristol Industrial is recruiting for a CNC Miller for one of our clients based in Bristol, BS4. This role involves the use of three-axis, four-axis (rotary), and five-axis Hurco milling machines.

Working Hours and Benefits:

• Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:30, with a 15:30 finish on Fridays
• £18-£20 per hour, based on experience

Responsibilities:

• Preparing, programming, setting, and operating CNC machines to perform milling and drilling operations
• Reading engineering drawings to understand specifications and desired outcomes
• Translating instructions into computer programs for machine operation
• Loading raw materials and parts onto machines
• Preparing test runs and conducting first-off inspections to ensure output meets specifications
• Setting machines for full production cycles
• Performing on-machine programming
• Supervising machine operation and making necessary adjustments
• Inspecting and measuring finished products against requirements
• Daily maintenance and checks on machinery to ensure functionality

Requirements:

• Engineering apprenticeship desirable
• Proven experience as a CNC operator/setter/programmer
• Experience with Hurco WinMax preferred
• Knowledge of workshop machinery, tooling, and precision measuring equipment
• Ability to read mechanical documents and engineering drawings
• Computer literacy and understanding of programming
• Mechanical aptitude and strong mathematical skills
• Good communication skills
• Team player capable of working independently
• Ability to meet deadlines and targets
