Job summary

WEC Group Ltd in Blackburn is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter to join the WEC Machining team.

You will program, set and operate vertical CNC Machining Centers, with frequent setups and involvement in 1st off and in-process inspections. The role requires at least 5 years post-qualification machining experience, ability to program, and a strong focus on H&S and quality. Based in Blackburn, Lancashire, working nights with a 39-hour week.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience in a technical machining background.
• Ability to program is essential.
• Highest standards of H&S and Quality is essential.
• Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings and deliver conforming parts.
• Working with various materials including exotic grade alloys.
• A detailed understanding of engineering drawing, tooling selection, work holding & cutting strategy is essential.
• A good communicator at all levels, with the ability to integrate and support a successful team.

Job Title:CNC Programmer/Miller (Nights)

Reports to: Machining Manager

Department: WEC Machining

Hours of work: Monday – Thursday 19.45 – 06.00 (39 hours per week)

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and capable CNC Programmer/Setter, who wishes to progress within a dynamic and rapidly expanding engineering firm.

Responsibilities

Working within fast paced machining cell this role is to program, set and operate vertical CNC Machining Centers.

Due to the type of work, frequent and efficient setups are required. There is also a need to be involved in the inspection process for 1st off checks and in process checks.
