Job title: CNC Miller Programmer

Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Job type: Temp-Perm

Working hours: Monday to Friday 7.30am-4.30pm

Rate: GBP16- GBP20ph dependant on experience

AMLR is proud to collaborate with a leading subcontract engineering specialist based in Gloucestershire. Operating from a 50,000 sq. ft. facility, the company provides high-precision CNC machining, sheet-metal fabrication, laser cutting, and large welded fabrications for the aerospace, nuclear, and technology sectors. Renowned for excellence and innovation, they support both bespoke projects and high-volume production.

They are currently seeking a skilled, reliable, and experienced CNC Miller Programmer to join their team.

Please note: Due to the sensitive nature of the sectors our client supplies to, all applicants must be UK residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 5-axis CNC milling
  • Programming, setting, and operating CNC machines
  • Tool changes, program proving, and G-code familiarity
  • Experience with Fanuc and Heidenhain controls
  • Routine maintenance of CNC equipment to ensure performance and longevity
  • Use of hand tools for assembly and adjustment of components
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot and improve processes
  • Handle and store materials efficiently within the workshop/warehouse environment
  • Accurately document machine settings and program changes

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Completed Apprenticeship or City & Guilds qualification (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years CNC machining experience
