Job description

We are currently recruiting for a CNC Miller Programmer for our client in Cambridge, a company specialising in high-quality, precision-engineered components for industries such as automotive, fibre optic, hi-tech, medical, marine, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, and more.

What’s the job?
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines, ensuring safety and operational guidelines are followed.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and CAD files to understand specifications.
  • Set up tooling and fixtures, including installing cutting tools per job specifications.
  • Conduct inspections of finished products using measuring instruments to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace, complying with health and safety regulations.
Who can do this?
  • Understanding of Heidenhain and Siemens controls
  • Experience setting and operating various CNC machining centres
  • Strong basic mathematics skills for measurements and calculations
  • Familiarity with materials handling in manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of tooling requirements for machining
  • Toolmaking knowledge is advantageous
  • Commitment to maintaining precision in all tasks
