The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a CNC Miller at one of our engineering clients in Nelson.

There is a potential permanent position following a successful trial period for candidates.

Role Overview

This is a full-time on-site role in Nelson for a CNC Miller. The CNC Miller will be responsible for performing precision machining operations on CNC milling machines and machining centres, interpreting engineering drawings, and selecting and setting up tooling and fixtures. Additionally, the CNC Miller will perform quality checks and maintain a clean and organised work area. The successful applicants will need to be flexible and self-motivated with experience of working in the engineering environment.

This position is for a 4-day permanent day shift (9.5hrs) 7.30 am to 5.30.pm Monday to Thursday. A 5-day week can be accommodated if preferred 8.00 am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 12.00 pm Friday.

What we offer:

  • £15 to £17.00 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Monday to Thursday working week -38.0 hour day shift.
  • Overtime to be worked when required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in CNC milling and machining operations.
  • Strong knowledge of interpreting engineering drawings, and geometric tolerancing.
  • Experience with machine setup, tooling selection/setup, of CNC milling machines and machining centres.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring equipment such as micrometres, height gauges, and dial indicators.
  • Experience with programming Heidenhain, G-code, and/or conversational programming ( like Prototrak XYZ)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree preferred)
