Job summary

ARM in Portsmouth is seeking a CNC Miller for a permanent role. Based in Portsmouth, offering £32,000 per year (£17.50 per hour). You will set and run CNC milling machines (Bridgeport with Heidenhain controls) and inspect parts against drawings.

Join a busy machine shop environment, maintain safety and quality standards, interpret engineering drawings, use precision measuring tools, log production activity, and communicate effectively with the team to keep workflow efficient.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in CNC milling machining.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Proficient in using precision measuring tools.
• Familiarity with Heidenhain controls.
• Experience with other CNC machines (lathes/EDMs) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set and run CNC milling machines (Bridgeport/Heidenhain controls).
• Work within a machine shop environment, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Utilise a range of precision measuring instruments to maintain tight tolerances.
• Manage day-to-day tasks within a production facility, ensuring smooth workflow and efficiency.
• Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Have good communication skills.
