Job description

Job Opportunity: CNC Machinist

Our client, a reputable provider of complex, quality-critical precision machined components and assemblies, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join their modern machine shop in Durham on a permanent basis.

Shift Details
  • Alternating shifts: 6am – 2pm and 2pm – 11:25pm, Monday to Thursday
  • Early shift: 6am – 12pm, Friday
  • Total hours: approximately 36.33 hrs per week
Compensation
  • Hourly rate: £17 to £20 depending on experience
  • Shift allowance: 20%
Responsibilities
  • Safe operation of CNC turning centers
  • Programming and editing NC programs
  • Setting up and operating CNC machinery
  • Ensuring parts meet precise drawing specifications
  • Completing quality check sheets and OEE documentation
  • Creating and updating setup sheets as required
Requirements
  • Time-served apprenticeship
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with billet work
  • Proficiency in programming and editing NC programs
  • Ability to read and follow aerospace protocols
  • Experience maintaining high-quality standards
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Well-organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proven experience in a busy subcontract machine shop environment
Additional Details
  • Overtime at 1.5x rate, available most weeks
