Job summary

Arden White Limited in Thatcham is seeking an experienced CNC Miller to join a prestigious Motorsport client. You will set, operate and run Milling Machine Centres to produce transmission components, with night and weekend shifts available.

Candidates should read complex drawings with GD&T, follow ISO Fanuc G codes, and demonstrate a strong machining background or an engineering apprenticeship. The role requires 3/4/5 axis machining and attention to detail in a fast-paced machine shop.

Qualifications

• Experience setting, operating and running milling machines to produce transmission components.
• Reading complex technical drawings with GD&T and ensuring quality control.
• Familiarity with ISO Fanuc G codes and macro/probing programming is advantageous.
• A strong machining background or completion of an engineering apprenticeship is preferred.

CNC Miller - Motorsport - Thatcham

Weekday night shifts & Weekend day shifts available

We’re currently looking for experienced CNC Millers to join one of our most prestigious Motorsport clients, who are currently going through an exciting period of expansion.

• You're responsible for setting, operating, and running Milling Machine Centres to produce transmission components.
• You will be required to have close attention to detail and have a good understanding of machine set up approaches.
• You will be working to highly complex components with a strict GD&T adherence.
• Knowledge of ISO Fanuc G codes will be required.
• An understanding of Macro’s and probing programming language will be advantageous.
• A requirement will be to complete Quality Control Plans and other documentation to support our high-quality standard.
• In this role, you will be working in a machine shop environment that is high paced and fast moving.
• Ability to operate 3/4/5 axis machines will be required.
• We’re looking for people with either a strong machining background or who have completed an engineering apprenticeship.
• Sound working knowledge of engineering/manufacturing processes is required with the ability to read complex technical drawings with GD&T’s.
• Extensive experience within a Motorsport/Automotive/Aerospace environment is highly advantageous due to comparable quality and delivery requirements in those industries.
• The successful candidate will have proven experience in setting, editing and operating vertical and horizontal CNC milling machines, along with practical tool making experience.
• In addition, the ability to visualise finished products and an understanding of the properties of the materials we work with (soft and hard steels, aluminium, and magnesium) is critical.
• As programs are made offline so great care to proving out programs is needed.
• Ability to communicate concerns back to the Team Leader/Manufacturing Engineer.
• Good levels of concentration are a must, as are being able to work both unsupervised and as part of a team.
• We’re looking for individuals with a self-sufficient attitude, good work ethic and the desire to always improve.

The roles we have available are on nights Monday to Thursday, and we also have the Friday to Sunday weekend shift.

• Weekends = Friday – Sunday: 06:00 – 18:30
• Nights = Monday – Thursday: 19:00 – 06:00
• This shift has a 30% shift allowance premium.
