Job description

My client in the S20 area of Sheffield is looking for experienced CNC Machinists.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the machine shop manager, your main responsibilities will include operating manual and CNC milling machines within a large heavy engineering environment.

This is a permanent position, offering 37.5 hours per week on a 3-shift pattern.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform all general machining tasks, including milling, turning, and boring.
  2. Set up machines according to best practices.
  3. Work accurately to customer requirements.
  4. Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  5. Inspect and check machined components using measuring equipment.
  6. Maintain good housekeeping of work areas.
  7. Maximize efficient use of machinery.
  8. Ensure safe use of machinery, adhering to tolerances and customer instructions.
  9. Work independently to produce quality machined parts.
  10. Prepare appropriately before commencing machining.
  11. Follow and complete quality documentation in line with company procedures.
  12. Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace Health & Safety requirements.
  13. Operate and program CNC machine tools.
  14. Work with complex engineering drawings.
Required Experience
  1. Experience in using both manual and CNC milling machines.
  2. Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings.
  3. Knowledge of modern tooling.
  4. Crane driving and slinging experience.
  5. Full understanding of Health & Safety in a heavy engineering environment.
  6. Experience in following and completing quality documentation.
  7. Ability to understand and follow CNC programs.
Shifts

Mornings: 06:00-13:20 | Afternoons: 13:00-20:20 | Nights: 20:00-06:20
