In this role, you'll be more than just a button-pusher you'll be a problem solver, a precision engineer, and a vital part of a team that thrives on creating top-quality components.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and optimize CNC milling programs online (Haidenhain & Mazatrol) or offline on inventor CAM / fusion 360. (Offline experience preferable but not essential)
- Program ,Set and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision parts to drawings and specifications.
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for efficient machining.
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documents.
- Conduct first-off inspections and adjust programs/machines as required to achieve dimensional accuracy.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with production, design, and quality to improve processes and reduce cycle times.
- Support cross-training activities and assist in developing team capability.
- Maintain machines, tooling, and equipment in safe working condition.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health & safety procedures and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Flexibly support other machining disciplines when needed
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Milling Programmer within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages (e.g., Fanuc, Heidenhain, Mazatrol).
- Proficiency in CAM software for 3 and 4-axis machining.
- Willing to use manual machines for tasks beyond CNC scope.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and a good understanding of GD&T.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with multi-axis machining (4/5-axis).
- Knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Turning experience to help provide cover for holidays / sickness.
