Job Description

In this role, you'll be more than just a button-pusher you'll be a problem solver, a precision engineer, and a vital part of a team that thrives on creating top-quality components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and optimize CNC milling programs online (Haidenhain & Mazatrol) or offline on inventor CAM / fusion 360. (Offline experience preferable but not essential)
  • Program ,Set and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision parts to drawings and specifications.
  • Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for efficient machining.
  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documents.
  • Conduct first-off inspections and adjust programs/machines as required to achieve dimensional accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with production, design, and quality to improve processes and reduce cycle times.
  • Support cross-training activities and assist in developing team capability.
  • Maintain machines, tooling, and equipment in safe working condition.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health & safety procedures and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Flexibly support other machining disciplines when needed

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CNC Milling Programmer within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages (e.g., Fanuc, Heidenhain, Mazatrol).
  • Proficiency in CAM software for 3 and 4-axis machining.
  • Willing to use manual machines for tasks beyond CNC scope.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and a good understanding of GD&T.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with multi-axis machining (4/5-axis).
  • Knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Turning experience to help provide cover for holidays / sickness.
