Job summary

Precision Resourcing Ltd is seeking an experienced CNC Miller to join a well-established precision engineering company in Greater Manchester. The role involves programming, setting and operating CNC lathes to produce high-precision components to customer specifications in a clean, well-equipped workshop.

You will work from engineering drawings, ensuring parts meet the highest quality standards while maintaining efficient production.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Miller, CNC Machinist, or Programmer/Setter/Operator.
• Experience programming and setting CNC lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently or in a team.
• Familiar with Fanuc, Mazatrol, Siemens or Haas controls.

Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate CNC Miller machines.
• Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Select tooling and adjust machine settings to optimise production.
• Carry out first-off inspections and in-process checks.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow H&S procedures.

The Role

As a CNC Miller, you'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes to manufacture precision components to customer specifications. You'll work from engineering drawings, ensuring all parts meet the highest quality standards while maintaining efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate CNC Miller machines.
• Manufacture precision-engineered components to tight tolerances.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Select tooling and adjust machine settings to optimise production.
• Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
• Measure finished components using verniers, micrometers and gauges.
• Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
• Work safely in line with company Health & Safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a CNC Miller, CNC Machinist or Programmer/Setter/Operator.
• Experience programming and setting CNC lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
