Job summary

Nassarhub is seeking an experienced CNC Miller to join its precision engineering team. The role involves setting, operating and, where appropriate, programming CNC milling machines to manufacture high-quality precision components for diverse industries.

In a fast-paced subcontract environment you will produce both one-off and batch parts to exact specifications, ensuring quality, efficiency and adherence to safety practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of machining practices, tooling and cutting parameters.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, dial indicators).
  • Able to work to tight tolerances with high accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Set, operate and program CNC milling machines as required.
  • Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings to tight tolerances.
  • Select cutting tools, workholding and machine set-ups for each job.
  • Perform first-off inspections and in-process checks with precision measuring equipment.
  • Monitor machining operations and maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
  • Produce components from materials including aluminium, mild steel, stainless steel, brass and engineering plastics.
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance and keep equipment clean and serviceable.
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Work to production schedules while maintaining high standards of workmanship.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Miller to join our precision engineering team. This role involves setting, operating and, where appropriate, programming CNC milling machines to manufacture high-quality precision components for a diverse range of industries.

Working within a fast-paced subcontract machining environment, you will be responsible for producing both one-off and batch components to exact customer specifications. You will play a key role in ensuring parts are manufactured accurately, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set, operate and, where required, programme CNC milling machines.
  • Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings to tight tolerances.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, workholding and machine set-ups for each job.
  • Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring equipment.
  • Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
  • Produce components in a range of materials including aluminium, mild steel, stainless steel, brass and engineering plastics.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment is kept clean and serviceable.
  • Identify tooling, machine or quality issues and report them promptly.
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Work to production schedules while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency and productivity.
Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Proven experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling and cutting parameters.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers, height gauges and dial indicators.
  • Ability to work to tight tolerances with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
