Job summary

Orion Electrotech is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer in Brownhills to programme, set and optimise production on Doosan CNC machines. You will read engineering drawings, create and modify CNC programmes and prove out new jobs while improving cycle times and accuracy.

You will work with brass, 316 stainless and aluminium to produce high‑quality components for customers worldwide. The role offers regular overtime, a Monday–Friday pattern with early finishes, and a supportive, long‑term team

Qualifications

• Proven CNC programming experience on Fanuc controls.
• Experience setting and proving out CNC jobs.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret tolerances.
• Experience in a precision engineering environment is advantageous.

Up to £20.00 per hour Overtime Early Finish Friday

Are you an experienced CNC Programmer looking for a role where you can genuinely utilise your programming skills rather than simply operating machinery?

We are recruiting for a skilled CNC Programmer to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Brownhills. Following significant investment in new machinery, including modern Doosan CNC machines, the business is looking to strengthen its engineering team with an experienced CNC Programmer who can programme, set and optimise production processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CNC Programmer seeking a stable long-term position within a growing manufacturer that supplies precision-engineered components to customers worldwide.

The Role

As a CNC Programmer, your responsibilities will include:

• Programming CNC machines using Fanuc controls
• Creating and modifying CNC programmes from engineering drawings
• Setting and proving out new jobs
• Optimising cycle times and production efficiency
• Tool selection, tooling offsets and machine set-up
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Producing precision components to tight tolerances
• Maintaining high quality standards throughout production

You will primarily be working on modern Doosan machinery manufacturing components in:

• Brass
• 316 Stainless Steel
• Aluminium

The company manufactures high-volume precision components, with batch sizes ranging from one-off components through to several thousand parts.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this CNC Programmer position, you should have:

• Previous CNC Programming experience
• Fanuc controls experience
• CNC Milling experience (3-axis preferred)
• Experience setting and proving out CNC jobs
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Experience working within a precision engineering environment

Experience with Doosan machines would be beneficial but is not essential.

Candidates with milling experience are particularly encouraged to apply, although exposure to CNC turning would also be advantageous.

• Monday to Thursday: 7:00am to 4:30pm
