Job summary

Sammons Group in Eastbourne is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer on a 6 month fixed-term contract to support production, drive continuous improvement and develop efficient manufacturing methods.

The role requires strong CNC machining expertise (including 5-axis and fixed-head turning) and proficiency with CAD/CAM systems to deliver high-precision components. Join a precision engineering team delivering quality outcomes.

Qualifications

Minimum five years' experience in a similar manufacturing engineering role.
Strong background in CNC machining and precision engineering.
Experience with 3D CAD/CAM and 5-axis CNC technologies.

Responsibilities

Develop and improve manufacturing processes to increase productivity, improve quality and reduce waste and production costs
Design and manufacture bespoke work holding, tooling and fixtures using 3D CAD software
Write, amend and optimise CNC programmes using machine controls and CAD/CAM software
Prove out CNC programmes on machines, ensuring processes are efficient and components meet required specifications
Produce detailed job setup sheets, work instructions and supporting manufacturing documentation
Manage tooling and fixtures across machinery and production operations
Evaluate new manufacturing methods, tooling and design changes to improve production efficiency
Support manufacturing cost analysis, including material costs and make-or-buy decisions
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement best-practice manufacturing methods
Provide technical support, guidance and training to production staff
Work closely with engineering and operations teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes
