Job description

CNC Machinists - Multiple opportunities for day shift CNC Miller and CNC Turners with this revitalised and fast growing subcontract aerospace precision engineering company.
As part of our commitment to producing high-quality aerospace components, you will play a crucial role in setting, operating, and programming CNC lathes and milling machines to meet precise specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting and operating CNC lathes and/or milling machines.
  • Programming and setting machines using Fanuc or Heidenhain control systems.
  • Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Conducting quality checks on finished components using various measuring instruments to ensure compliance with required tolerances.
  • Performing routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting minor issues.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Collaborating with the wider team to ensure schedules are met and quality standards are upheld.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ideally you will have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship, OR Have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC Turner or CNC Miller.

Proven, in-depth experience with Fanuc controls (Lathes) or experience with Heidenhain controls (Mills) is required.

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

  • Monday - Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30
  • Friday: 07:30 - 12:30

Desirable Skills:

  • Proficiency in using CAM software (e.g., Autodesk Fusion 360) for offline programming.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
