CNC Machinist/Programmer (Weekend Shift - Friday to Sunday)

About the Role

A new vacancy has arisen for a CNC Machinist/Programmer to join the weekend shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). The successful candidate will be responsible for machining both patterns and composite components to tight tolerances using 5 axis CNC machines.

Key Accountabilities/Duties include:
  • Producing precision Carbon Components, patterns and moulds.
  • Producing the highest quality machined components to a rigid time schedule.
  • Ensuring that appropriate process and procedures are adhered to in order to maintain high quality.
  • Setting and operating CNC machinery from provided setup sheets and programs to produce car components, jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Proactively contributing to develop processes to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Working to challenging and demanding deadlines.
  • Being proactively aware of Health and Safety requirements.
  • Assisting other areas of the department as required.
Candidate Profile:
  • The successful candidate will have a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in tool making/machining.
  • A proven competence with 5 Axis CNC machines is essential and good PC skills are required.
  • Knowledge of Siemens 840SL controllers and Autodesk CAD/CAM software would also be beneficial.
  • Be a self-motivated, enthusiastic and a dependable team player.
  • Have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and be willing to help and support the team.
  • Work well under pressure to meet time critical deadlines.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills.
