AMETEK, a global leader in industrial technology, is looking for a CNC Operator in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on operating CNC turning and milling machines to manufacture precision components safely, efficiently and to quality standards.

You will read engineering drawings, perform first-off inspections, and use micrometers, verniers and gauges. The position offers a supportive environment, competitive salary, and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Read engineering drawings to interpret requirements.
• Knowledge of precision measurement techniques and inspection practices.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements in manufacturing.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English.
• Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machining lathes and associated equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Perform first-off and in-process inspections.
• Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• Record production and quality data accurately.
• Report machine, tooling or quality issues promptly.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work area.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow company quality, health and safety procedures.
