Overview

Job Opportunity: CNC Machinist (NIGHT SHIFT) – Stroud

Location: Stroud

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday: 10:00 pm - 6:00 am, and Friday 05:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Salary: £34,000 - £42,000 DOE

Purpose

Join our client's team and leverage your expertise to efficiently set up and operate CNC machines. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the timely production of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritise safety, adhering to Health and Safety policies for a secure work environment.
  • Maintain quality standards by inspecting and cleaning parts, following 5S principles.
  • Set up machines accurately using provided instructions and tools.
  • Follow work schedules and instructions from Production Supervisors for seamless operations.
  • Accurately record production hours and report any non-productive time.
  • Monitor machine performance, making adjustments as necessary to meet production targets.
  • Conduct in-cycle inspections using precision tools and document findings.
  • Provide feedback for the CNC program and setup improvements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues for efficient resource utilisation and smooth shift handovers.
  • Support apprenticeship programs and on-the-job learning initiatives.
  • Promptly report non-conforming parts and assist in root cause analysis.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Completed apprenticeship or equivalent experience in machining.
  • Proficiency in workshop practices and CNC machining.
  • Familiarity with Duplex and Nickel Alloy Materials preferred.
  • Strong numerical and literacy skills.
  • Competence in MS Office applications and internet use.
Overtime Rates
  • Weekdays: 1.5 x basic hourly rate
  • Saturday: 1.5 x basic hourly rate
  • Sunday: 2 x basic hourly rate
