Job summary

A leading company in the process and flow control sector is seeking a CNC Machine Operator in Montrose. The role involves programming and operating CNC machines, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and collaborating with project engineers. Ideal candidates will possess an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience and be proficient in machine operation and programming.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent work experience on CNC Machine.
  • Experience of Premium Threading
  • Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings/specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture components to standards/procedures set out by NOV & customers.
  • Ensure defects are reported to the Production Manager.
  • Liaise with the Production Manager on customer/project issues.

Located in our Machine Shop at NOV Process and Flow Control, Montrose, and reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for programming and the operation of CNC Machine

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Manufacture components to standards/procedures set out by NOV & NOV’s customers
  • Ensure that all defects to materials, components or equipment are reported to the Production Manager as required by company procedures
  • Liaise with the Production Manager on any customer, project or other issues arising
  • Report any Environmental and Health & Safety issues that arise
  • Ensure all relevant drawings, procedures and instructions are to the latest revision level, prior to any work commencing
  • Ensure that all gauges, gauge procedures are correct and current prior to use
  • Aid Project Engineers in the selection of tooling and capital equipment
  • Be involved in Environmental and Health & Safety issues
  • Aid in the creation of risk assessments as and when required
  • Aid in the proposal and introduction of new machining techniques/machines to improve productivity or safety
  • Ensure personal compliance with all HSE Legislation and HSE Company Policy
  • Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by Line Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent work experience on CNC Machine

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience of Premium Threading
  • Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings/specifications etc.
  • practical experience on CNC or Manual machines

SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:

  • Use of CNC Machine Tools
  • Programming of CNC Machine Tools
  • Ability to use Inspection equipment and specialized premium thread gauges
  • Full understanding of various methods of manufacture
  • Skills in planning methods of machining
  • Ability to use lifting equipment effectively
  • Understanding of Environment and Health & Safety
  • Competent level of understanding in: Engineering drawings Engineering terminologies Machine Tool Tooling
